When Carmela and her best friends find a victim dying in front of them, they could not expect that this will be the least of their problems... Their nightmare has just started!

Carmela is a different heroine, has a scrapbook shop and her boyfriend is a detective; and in her spare time tries to solve mysteries without being killed, of course!
Carmela seems a fresh and funny character, but I didn't like very much her attitude or her love for alcohol that drinks during all the book... And I was quite surprised with her boyfriend, the detective Babcock, their contact is almost nonexistent and I am still waiting for an apology for his part for being so rude and childish in all the case... maybe in the next book?
This is one of these cases were the police doesn't appear till the mystery is solved, but let me tell you that there are a lot of suspects and none of them has my sympathy, everyone has a motive and none of them has a clear alibi. It will be your job to try to solve this mystery before the last page, this is the funny part of reading a murder case, is it?
I loved the idea of a Scrap Mystery, and I didn't know this is the 14th of the series, so if you like a different case, this one is for you!

New Orleans is a city of nearly non-stop sparkle and shine celebrations, so it is easy to imagine how much fun it must be to stroll along the banks of the Mississippi River to mingle with the excited crowds and browse the festively decorated booths offering food, wine, clothes, electronics, jewelry and other assorted offerings during the annual Winter Market. New Orleans native and scrapbooking shop owner Carmela Bertrand and her best friend, Ava Gruiex, were delighting in the food and wares of every booth. Right up until the moment a dead body falls right in front of them.
If you have never met Carmela and Ava before, Crepe Factor brings you up close and personal. For one thing, Ava is at a risqué lingerie booth trying on a leather corset in a makeshift dressing room when the dying man bangs into the booth and stumbles along knocking the booth and its contents hither and yon.
Carmela recognizes the dead man as food critic Martin Lash who, a few minutes before,  she witness having a nasty argument with a man she once dated, restaurant owner Quigg Brevard. Now she is romantically involved with Edgar Babcock, New Orleans’ number one detective, who really, really doesn’t like Quigg Brevard. So if Babcock catches the case, which he is certain to do Carmela is going to be smack in the middle as a premier witness. Carmela knows good can come of this.
Sure enough Babcock orders Carmela to stay far away from the investigation and even farther away from Quigg Brevard. But, how shall I say it? Carmela is not a woman who takes orders well. Tag along as Carmela and Ava wend their way all around the restaurant business from reviewers to suppliers, as all the while Carmela tries to keep Babcock from realizing she is investigating on Quigg’s behalf. But Babcock is a sharp cookie, so Carmela needs to be extra careful if she is to protect their relationship at all costs.
