Scrapbook Of Murder by Lois Winston
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Source: Great Escapes
Anastasia Pollack loves to create scrapbook albums and doing crafty things but instead of profiting with her hobby she finds murders... interesting don't you think?
'“Is there anything you can do?” asked Lupe.
“We could scan the originals to create printed photo albums,” said Zack. “That way we
could also remove some of the discoloration.”
We? I turned to him. “You’d be willing to help?”
“If I don’t, I won’t see you for several months.”
“You two are the best,” said Lupe. A tear slid down her cheek. “I can’t begin to tell you how
much this means to me.”'
Anastasia has a guilty conscience about the death of one of her friend's mother, that's why she will try to help Lupe find answers about her mother's past, sadly they will risk their lives to find their answers!
I liked how the author mixed Anastasia's personal life (being a mother, a worker and a friend) while she is investigating the "cases" she is involved and tries to help her friends.
I know this is not the first book of the Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mysteries, it's the 6th book, and some of the characters have baggage that it's missed, but at the same time it makes you want to read the previous books of the series. For example, the mother-in-law seems quite interesting and I can't wait to read more of her mischievous comments and I hope soon (more than later) Anastasia will say something! And the mysterious job of Anastasia boyfriend, is he really a spy or Anastasia has a very wild imagination? So many questions I can't wait to read the next book!
Scrapbooking has always been something that relaxes me, and I found this book quite original and interesting at the same time, mixing some of my favourite things, crafts and mysteries, and let me say that this book has surprised me, it was a quick read, with humour, a good mystery and very interesting characters! Taking a trip to the past is not always something happy.... some secrets are better buried, don't you think?
